Jason Budinoff has 30 years of experience designing and building precision mechanisms and opto-mechanical instrumentation for balloons, aircraft, launch vehicles, and the International Space Station. He has supported programs at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for 25 years as a senior aerospace/optomechanical engineer, as well as work on several space shuttle missions and the Hubble Space Telescope.

 

Recent work includes science instruments for the SOFIA airborne observatory, the BITSE and CODEX coronagraphs, and the NICER ISS X-Ray telescope He also has also worked with large solid propulsion systems, 3D printing of cubesat-class telescopes, control electronics and telemetry, and instrument systems engineering for ISS external payloads.​ Budinoff is the co-founder of Visioneering Systems, an official payload integration partner of the ISS National Lab, and also co-founded bSpace Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering.
